Sick of Irish government, superstar Conor McGregor announces to run for President

A “Connie comeback” in MMA might still not be in the books yet. But that does not stop Conor McGregor from fitting, albeit outside the ring, for a 2025 Irish presidential bid. Former UFC two-division champion plans to enter political arena in 2025, fed up with ‘charlatans’ heading his native Ireland. Either ‘The Notorious’ shakes up the establishment — or dissolves the framework completely in favor of “power for people.”

Conor McGregor has been on a long MMA layoff since his 2021 leg break. He was to return atop the UFC 303 pay-per-view top bill in June. However, ‘Mac’ could not be back due to a pinky toe injury. Even on a clean bill of health he now has no booking until next year. While his legs keep giving out, he wants to step foot into the convoluted politics scenario as its savior.

As President I hold the power to summon the Dáil as well as dissolve it. So as I said before, I would have all the answers the people of Ireland seek from these thieves of the working man, these disrupters of the family unit, these destructors of small businesses, and on and on and on! These charlatans in their positions of power would be summoned to answer to the people of Ireland and I would have it done by day end.

In the meanwhile, the brash political aspirant has also been teasing free agency for a while. A run for Irish presidency would essentially mean he is out of the fighting business and end his oft-delayed UFC comeback. However, this is not a rash impulse outlet. Raised in Crumlin, McGregor has long been voicing such changes to his country. He even notoriously made stern comparisons with ‘older’ Irish Presidential competition, for a legitimate chance at office.

When considering performance output, McGregor, 36, replied to an article on Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTE) claiming to have expanded a 21-home housing development. His company’s plans for a 113-unit block in Drimnagh, Dublin for The Large Scale Residential Development (LRD) application have been a viral matter for years now. From charity work to tweeting of Ireland in war, he is already driven. As such, the matter of the 2025 Irish presidential bid is a hot one.

Claims that Irish authorities are scapegoating Conor McGregor have set tongues wagging. Mac and his proactive assertion against the workings of the Irish government seemed to have incited riots even. The Team SBG Ireland fighter even caught the attention of the garda for a while. His voice superseding the current administration has been a thing for a while.

Then again, McGregor went viral, not condoning violence, in response to a tweet from Paul Golding, the leader of the far-right group Britain First. He even tweeted several times in response to a video of Ireland’s Garda chief Drew Harris, for peaceful resolution and active changes. Away from an uncertain MMA return, his attention and 2025 Irish presidential bid have gone viral once again.
