Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani has already won the takeover race of Manchester United. Over the past few months, Sheikh Jassim had been constantly competing with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos to buy the legendary English club. Although the Sheikh’s camp has relentlessly claimed that the takeover has been completed, there has been no official announcement.
Ineos reportedly were the frontrunners to buy a 60% stake in Manchester United. This would have allowed the Glazer family to carry on in a reduced role at Old Trafford.
However, according to the newspaper Al-Watan, the Qatari bid for Manchester United was successful. The media outlet said that an announcement of Sheikh Jassim’s takeover would soon be made after successful talks.
Sheikh Jassim’s current offer is for a 100% share of United. His offer is expected to be valued at roughly £5 billion. After almost seven months of bidding, Man United’s takeover race seems to be on its way to reaching its conclusion.
It was announced in November that the Glazer family was open to selling Man United right after Cristiano Ronaldo‘s contract was terminated. However, the process has lingered on for a long time with lots of new rumors and speculations finding their way to the front pages.
According to reports from Qatar, Sir Jim would miss out on purchasing his childhood club. Sheikh Jassim issued an ultimatum to the United Nations negotiators last week. His current £5 billion proposal was the fifth offer he has made for the club since the buyout process began. The Qatari promised to pay in advance while also clearing the Red Devils of any debt.

Manchester United target teases transfer rumors by calling the club ‘huge’ despite debunking claims of any video call with Man United coach Erik Ten Hag
Manchester United target Rasmus Hojlund reportedly said that a transfer to Old Trafford would be a “huge” step forward. However, the youthful attacker maintains he has not had video talks with Red Devils manager Erik Ten Hag.
In a recent interview, Hojlund was asked about the alleged video call that he had with Ten Hag. To this, he answered, “There has been no video call”. He then continued, “It’s a huge club, so I must have done something right if it says they want me. My goal is to reach the top shelf, and you can say that Manchester United is. So it will be huge”.
According to the young striker, there will be a rush to recruit attackers across Europe this summer. Hojlund has stated that he is happy at Atalanta. But he suggested that people will have to wait and see whether he is engaged in the future transfer window. He said, “I am very happy to be in Atalanta, and we will play in Europe after the summer. So I’ve found myself in a really good place here, so now we’ll have to see.”
Since joining Atalanta from Sturm Graz last summer, Hojlund has only spent one season in the Serie A. He scored scoring 10 goals in 34 games for his club so far.
