The Los Angeles Lakers have a long list of famous greats who have donned the iconic purple and gold jersey and deserve a place in the Mount Rushmore of the LA Lakers.

Players like the great Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar all made their mark for the Lakers and rightly deserve a spot.

That list should also contain Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James. The former for his role in winning three consecutive championships between 2000 and 2002, and the latter as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. But the famous Mount Rushmore has slots for just four faces.

Famous American rapper Lil Wayne, who was featured on the legend’s “fun house” party, was allowed to pick his ideal four faces for the Lakers’ own Mount Rushmore.

He mentioned Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar], Magic [Johnson], and Kobe [Bryant] and for a while put Big Shaq on his list, only to recant and include LeBron James instead.

As expected, O’Neal was visibly disappointed by Lil Wayne’s choice. In truth, it would be difficult to choose between either Shaquille O’Neal or LeBron James for a final spot considering the impact both players had on the franchise.

What if I called my sister two minutes before she passed away to say I love you? What if I could’ve dropped my ego and said, ‘Kob, what you doing my boy?’ What if I did the right thing when I was supposed to do the right thing as a married man?

Shaq’s story shows the importance of maintaining a good relationship with people regardless of their fame and status.
