The accusers are currently listed as John and Jane Does, represented by their lawyer, Tony Buzbee. Buzbee claims to represent a total of 120 individuals with similar accusations against Diddy. The rapper’s legal team filed new documents on October 15, seeking to know the names of the accusers in order to “prepare for trial.”
The lawyers representing Diddy have described the case as “unique,” citing his fame, wealth, and the media attention surrounding previous legal battles. They have accused the government of leaking evidence to tarnish Diddy’s reputation, including CCTV footage from 2016 allegedly showing him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
In their court filings, Diddy’s legal team argues that the numerous lawsuits against him have created a damaging “ripple effect,” with some allegations being labeled as “outright absurd.” They claim that many of these accusations have been discredited, but not before causing significant harm to Diddy’s image.
The lawyers also raise concerns about the lack of clarity regarding the accusers’ identities, stating that this makes it difficult for Diddy to defend himself against the allegations. They believe that revealing the accusers’ names could potentially uncover evidence of consensual sexual activity, further complicating the situation for Diddy.
