In his post-retirement years, Scottie Pippen has been spending his time promoting cryptocurrency. To advocate for his token project, “$BALL,” he made his first appearance on one of the top media podcasts, Valuetainment. During his two-hour-long sit-down with host and entrepreneur Patrick Bet-David, Pippen delved into a wide array of issues, ranging from slipping viewership to pampered basketball players.

The six-time NBA Champion made the stunning revelation that he “was never Jordan’s friend.” As stray shots flew, Pippen directed one of his remarks at James. Juxtaposing his unchallenged dominance with the Chicago Bulls during their two separate three-peat stretches, he compared it to how LeBron James has been pursuing his legacy by frequently switching teams.

Idk… You want individual accolades, or you want championships, ’cause I didn’t chase mine.

Scottie Pippen said.

The remark followed when the host posed a hypothetical question on whether the GMs would prefer to sign Scottie Pippen or LeBron James when seeking an all-around player. Pippen threw subtle slights at the King, highlighting how James had to join the Miami Heat to team up with Dwyane Wade, return to Cleveland to play alongside Kyrie Irving, and now team up with Anthony Davis in Los Angeles.

LeBron James inches closer to Scottie Pippen on all-time steals list

In his efforts to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to the winning column on Friday versus the Brooklyn Nets, LeBron James picked up another steal, putting him at a total of 2,304 takeaways. He is now only four steals short of dethroning the Bulls’ legend Scottie Pippen on the all-time list to become the 7th all-time leader in interceptions.

In 2025, despite turning 40, the King seems to be on a mission to leave his mark on all the various metrics of basketball before he finally bids adieu. Every other game, he is making new records and breaking old ones. He is currently the all-time scoring leader, and with every dunk in Year 22, he has redefined the definition of GOAT.

Currently, besides points, LeBron James is the NBA’s all-time leader in minutes played, field goal attempts, and points scored in the playoffs. Not surprisingly, he also leads in career turnovers.
