Israel Adesanya is widely considered one of the most entertaining fighters on the current UFC roster, largely due to his flashy walkouts. However, he is currently struggling with his form, having suffered consecutive defeats in his last two UFC fights. Amidst this, Adesanya recently discussed what his post-retirement life would look like.

Popular UFC commentator Joe Rogan recently hosted the former UFC middleweight champion in one of his podcast episodes. During the episode, both ‘Izzy‘ and Rogan delved into several intriguing topics. It ranged from Adesanya’s upcoming fight plan to current buzzing controversies around the world. While discussing those, Rogan questioned Adesanya about his post-retirement. In response, Izzy seemingly labeled himself as an ‘adrenaline junkie‘ and stated his plans.

If I said, ‘Okay I‘m done fighting now.‘ Then running with the bulls cool, let‘s do that and I‘ll just train for that and then when it‘s time to I‘ll go Spain or whatever and get ready for that and then go run with the bulls… So what‘s another one? Okay, let‘s say, I go to the Outback uh go learn to jump on a crocodile and save it from some I don‘t know, there‘ll be something, I‘ll find things…

Rogan was surprised by Adesanya’s post-retirement plans and even told him it would be a foolish way to die. However, Izzy wanted to explore whatever he wished after retiring. Over the years, the MMA community has seen Adesanya enjoying his life on various occasions. One of the most notable instances was when he threw a party in Miami after defeating Alex Pereira and reclaiming his middleweight crown.

Adesanya is currently experiencing a rough patch in his UFC career, having suffered two defeats for the first time. He first lost his middleweight belt to Sean Strickland at UFC 293. Following that, his recent defeat came against the current middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis, at UFC 305. As of now, Adesanya has not been scheduled for his next fight. Nonetheless, a UFC commentator has shared some insights on who Adesanya should fight next.

Who should Israel Adesanya fight next?

Since his debut, Adesanya has defeated nearly every top UFC middleweight fighter, such as the legendary Anderson Silva and Robert Whittaker. However, the division is evolving, and there are now several intriguing fighters competing at 185 lbs. This raises the question of who Izzy should fight next.

Although Adesanya has often talked about rematching both Strickland and Du Plessis, Jon Anik thinks otherwise. The popular UFC commentator recently had a detailed discussion about various fighters’ upcoming fights, including Izzy’s. Per Anik, the former middleweight champion should take some time off now and fight the undefeated Chechen native.

I think if you’re Izzy, you just lay back in the cut and maybe it’s Khamzat. I mean that’s a fight that I think would have some appeal but Khamzat could be in a championship setting…

Khamzat Chimaev has been out of UFC for over a year now. His last fight was against Kamaru Usman at UFC 294, where he comfortably defeated his opponent. However, he is now set to make a comeback after a year and fight Robert Whittaker at UFC 308. It remains to be seen when would be the ideal time to match Adesanya against Chimaev.
