The Super Bowl is not just about the game! It is one of the most-watched sporting events around the world. As a result, people compete to advertise their products during the game. In that trend, Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also had an advertisement for his Presidential campaign, which ended up being controversial since it heavily featured his uncle and former President John F. Kennedy.
The Super Bowl ad, which imposed RFK’s face over his uncle JFK’s, caused controversy due to the former’s anti-vaccine stance. RFK is an environmental lawyer and anti-vaccine activist, and his views didn’t quite align with the views of his family. Robert’s cousin Bobby Shriver took to social media to express his displeasure with RFK’s Super Bowl ad.
My cousin’s Super Bowl ad used our uncle’s faces- and my Mother’s. She would be appalled by his deadly health care views. Respect for science, vaccines, & health care equity were in her DNA. She strongly supported my health care work at @ONECampaign & @RED which he opposes.

Robert Kennedy Jr is the son of former US attorney general Robert Kennedy and nephew of former US President John F. Kennedy. Despite his family’s deep connection with the Democratic party, Robert has decided to run as an independent candidate during the 2024 Presidential elections. His decision had already pissed off some Democratic party members.
And now, his Super Bowl ad, which heavily featured the former Democrat President John F. Kennedy has again angered many people. Later, RFK had to address the issue on his social media profile.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. apologised to JFK’s family
Following a massive backlash from NFL fans and his own family, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. took to social media to apologize for his Super Bowl advertisement. While replying to his cousin’s post about the ad, RFK Jr. said he had no involvement in creating the advertisement.
Bobby. I’m so sorry if that advertisement caused you pain. The ad was created and aired by the American Values Superpac without any involvement or approvals from my campaign. Federal rules prohibit Superpacs from consulting with me or my staff. I send you and your family my sincerest apologies. God bless you.

According to reports, the 30-sec advertisement, which costed $7 million, was funded by American Values 2024 Super PAC, which was co-founded by Tony Lyons. The clip is a throwback to a campaign ad used by John F. Kennedy in his 1960 Presidential campaign.
On the sporting side of things, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in their Super Bowl game and won their second-straight title. Their QB, Patrick Mahomes, was named the Super Bowl MVP for the third time in his career.
