Robert Griffin III announced that Caitlin Clark had silenced her critics. As March Madness enters the final stages, Clark led the Iowa Hawkeyes to a memorable 94-87 victory over LSU in their Elite Eight matchup of the NCAA tournament in Albany.

It was a revenge game for the ages in women’s basketball, which attracted close to 12.5 million viewers. They were tuning in to watch arguably the two best players in the game, Clark and Angle Reese. They weren’t disappointed, as Iowa dominated the game.

Clark, as Usal, was the star of the show, converting nine three-pointers on the night. She broke the record for most 3-pointers in a game along the way, leading the Hawkeyes to their second straight Final Four.

Last year, these two teams met in the championship game in Dallas. Reese and LSU ran out 102-85 winners on that occasion. Following the win, Reese resorted to bantering. She pointed to her ring finger, claiming that she was about to get the most important piece of hardware in her life.

Although Caitlin Clark later revealed that she had no clue about the taunting, since then, fans of the two athletes have clashed online, seemingly trying to prove who is better. Now that she exacted her ‘revenge’ on LSU, advancing to the second straight final of four games, Robert Griffin III claimed that the 22-year-old’s actions have done the talking for her.

Clark was already the all-time leading scorer, irrespective of gender, in NCAA Division 1 history. The Iowa guard holds the record for most Division 1 3-pointers in a career, along with most 3-pointers and assists in NCAA tournaments.

With last night’s 41 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds, she became the first player to record 40-point games three times in an NCAA tournament. After the massive win, former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III praised Clark and the entire Iowa team.

The Hawkeyes will now face the Paige Bueckers and Uconn in the next round on Friday in Cleveland. Uconn was a surprise winner against the top-seeded USC. The other two teams that qualified are South Carolina and NC State.
