Steph Curry is one of the most highly decorated players in NBA history. He dominated the 2010s with two consecutive MVPs and three-point shooting ability. Curry has delivered season after season for his side, the Golden State Warriors, winning 4 NBA titles for them in the process. Now, Curry is playing in his 16th NBA season, at the age of 36.
Curry has averaged 21.8 points per game in his 16th season. This is his lowest total in a full season since 2011–12, but it is still impressive all around. The 10-time All-Star continues to average 6.6 assists per game, his highest total since 2016–17, and shoots 40.3% from three-point range and 92.1% from the free-throw line. However, Curry made a shocking revelation regarding his retirement recently.
The Warriors, led by Steph Curry, are 15–13 overall. They still have a chance to qualify for the postseason in the 2024–25 season. However, they are not the same Warriors that established a dynasty in the 2010s. The lack of a clear second star alongside Curry continues to hurt the Warriors this season.
It might be a fascinating few months if Curry’s feeling of urgency indicates that he wants one final chance at a championship. If the four-time NBA champion believed that leaving Golden State would help him win a championship, would he really look to do so? However, only time will tell whether or not Curry snatches a fifth NBA title in his career.
Steph Curry offered a different view on playing with his teammate Draymond Green
Steph Curry has been playing at the highest levels of basketball for years in the NBA. Alongside him, his teammate Draymond Green also has supported him along the road during their NBA careers. Now, both stars seem to be entering the last stages of their careers. However, the two-time MVP does not feel the same and opened up on this and his teammate, Green.
Curry believes that he and Green are still in their ‘prime’ despite acknowledging that his ‘retirement is near.’ Aside from this, the seasoned point guard demonstrated his unwavering commitment to winning beyond everything else. Curry also emphasized that the team’s priority remains to figure out how to get back on track if the Warriors aren’t winning.
