The Co-op Live Arena was set to grace the homeboys of England. As the UFC 304 PPV proceeded towards the main card, there were several good performances. However, it was Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett who made the English crowd erupt in joy with a submission victory over UFC veteran Bobby Green.
The stakes were high for the Scouser due to ranking implications. For Green, it was another fight as the wall of the division. Both fighters exchanged several taunts and trash-talking in the pre-match buildup. With that hype, Pimblett and Green made an exquisite entrance. The crowd erupted as Pimblett came in, swaying in arms in the air. Whereas Green looked rather focused on punishing the Scouser.
The fight started off positively for both of them. Pimblett was good at throwing the calf-kicks. Whereas Green held on to his sidekicks. They went back and forth for the first two minutes. Then, all of a sudden, the 37-year-old American jumped into Pimblett’s legs in an attempt for a takedown. The Scouser was quick to read that and defended the takedown attempt.
Interestingly, Pimblett took that attempt as an opportunity to lock Green. The Scouser quickly transitioned that takedown attempt of Green to a guillotine at first. King Green managed to fight that, but Pimblett had his plan B ready. The Scouser changed his guillotine hold to a triangle choke, which eventually put the American fighter to sleep.
The crowd of Manchester didn’t shy back from cheering the boy from their nation. With this win, Pimblett is currently on a 6-0 undefeated record at the UFC. Interestingly, this was Bobby Green’s first submission defeat. Pimblett’s win over a veteran like Green has caught everyone’s attention in the MMA community. Many fight fans went on to their socials to praise Pimblett’s exquisite victory.

UFC lightweight Paddy Pimblett always stays around the buzz. He is often trolled for his putting on excessive weight after his fights. However, his fight record at the UFC is quite fascinating with victories over Tony Ferguson and Jared Gordon. Interestingly, Pimblett couldn’t finish his last two fights, for which many fans expected this fight to go around the same way.

Paddy Pimblett’s statement victory over the veteran has fans puzzled about who he should fight next. Many even hinted Pimblett to fight Renato Moicano. Interestingly, both the Scouser and the Brazilian did have a go at each other a few weeks ago. So now, seeing how the UFC feels about his potential matchup will be interesting.
