As Team USA continues their hunt for gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, basketball legend Dwyane Wade has weighed in on the prospects of the current team achieving glory in France. The Hall of Famer last played for the Miami Heat before eventually retiring from professional basketball.

After his retirement, Wade pursued a new career and joined NBC Sports as a broadcaster. Following that career switch, the former NBA star is now covering menโ€™s basketball in the ongoing Olympic Games for the outlet.

Wade has recently made his thoughts known about the capabilities of the USA contingent in Paris. The 42-year-old disclosed this in an interview with NBC News this week, giving his unique insight into how the current Team USA compares to previous teams. In the interview, Wade talked about the squad depth and how he thinks the current team is the best ever in years.

This team is so deep, in six games weโ€™re not going to get an opportunity to see how dope this team really is. But I know basketball. And I know with my own eyes I have not seen a team like this. My โ€˜08 team was very good, but I donโ€™t know if we was as deep as this team.
Dwyane Wade said

According to the Chicago native, he believes this team is loaded with talent in every department and unlike any he has seen before. Furthermore, Wade stated that while his 2008 Olympics team were great, he doesnโ€™t think they had enough squad depth like the current USA contingent.

The American Menโ€™s basketball squad at the Paris Olympics consists of both experienced leaders like LeBron James and Kevin Durant, while also boasting an impressive lineup of top NBA stars such as Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum and others. And so far, Team USA has shown that they are no paper tigers with back-to-back wins in their last two games.

Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony visited Lebron James and Team USA in Las Vegas training camp ahead of Olympics

Ahead of the 2024 Olympics as Team USA stepped up their preparations, Wade paid a visit to the training camp in Las Vegas. During his visit, Dwyane Wade connected with Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James, who were all part of the 2008 team together with the late Kobe Bryant.

Currently, James is the only remaining star from the โ€˜Redeem Teamโ€™, who is playing once again for the USA at this yearโ€™s Olympics in Paris.
