Thanasis Antetokounmpo is one of the most intriguing characters in the NBA. He has been a pillar of support for Milwaukee Bucks teammate and brother Giannis Antetokounmpo from the sidelines. But he is also often the subject of trolls, such as what rapper Cam’ron did recently.
NBA Centel, a well-known spoof account on X put up a post in July where it mentioned that the older Antetokounmpo had handed in a trade request. When this was read out on the podcast It is What it is, Cam’ron and fellow rapper and co-host Mase could not control their laughter.
It seems Thanasis Antetokounmpo caught wind of this and was not impressed. A clip started spreading on X earlier today where it showed the Greek star entering the It is What it is studio. His entrance caught Cam’ron by surprise and the rapper immediately left his chair to take cover.
He thought Antetokounmpo was going to harm him and kept circling the podcast table trying to stay away. The NBA star mentioned to him that he just wants to talk, but Cam’ron ended up running away. He later revealed his fears on his Instagram.
The rapper’s words indicate he was trying to pacify with the Bucks star. Thanasis Antetokounmpo had himself tried to pacify the situation when he extended his hand. But it seems fear stopped Cam’ron from even trying. The Bucks star is not playing currently, so could take the time out to visit his troll.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo is not playing basketball currently
Thanasis Antetokounmpo played for the Milwaukee Bucks for five straight seasons winning the NBA title in 2021. Long considered a mainstay due to his importance to his brother, he was often criticized for occupying a roster spot that could go to a better player.
This season though, that roster spot went to another player as the older Antetokounmpo eventually became a free agent. The team did not renew his contract after he tore his Achilles tendon during a workout. His recovery timeline would not see him play this season, hence the Bucks chose to sign another player.
That is why fans mostly see him on the sidelines at Bucks games in casual clothes. However, many have highlighted his importance to the team and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Which means, he is likely to return next season unless his superstar brother is content with his current out of NBA role.
