Conor McGregor’s civil trial has only concluded but the star isn’t out of troubled waters yet. In the face of public outcry, the Irish star has found himself on the cross-hair of many enemies. Top of the list includes the YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul, who dissed the Irishman. Moreover, Paul’s callout of McGregor in MMA didn’t sit well with one UFC legend.
Taking to X, legendary MMA fighter Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson made his thoughts known. Rampage made an appearance on Ariel Helwani‘s show, now doubling down on his offer to fight Jake Paul. Jackson stated that Paul’s antics of bullying aren’t something he is a fan of. Taking Conor McGregor’s ongoing legal woes as an example, Jackson felt the call out was ill-timed and disrespectful.
The 46-year-old retired fighter seemed quite certain to take on Paul. He even extended to fight for free in MMA against the young boxer. Paul’s last outing against aging Mike Tyson didn’t go well with the community. PFL Champion Francis Ngannou felt hurt seeing the 58-year-old Tyson compete in the boxing ring.
“After I knock out Rashad [Evans], I’m coming for Jake Paul’s neck because I see him trying to bully Conor McGregor.
[Jake Paul] already pissed me off with what he did to Mike Tyson. I ain’t playing around with Jake Paul.”

Jackson isn’t the only aging fighter who showcased interest in facing Paul. Another 47-year-old legend, Yoel Romero, extended a callout that fans want to see. Paul’s habit of taking on aging retired MMA fighters and boxers could make one of these fights a reality. For now, ‘The Problem Child’ seems certain about fighting UFC star Conor McGregor next.
Jake Paul calls for clash with Conor McGregor in MMA in the face of legal soup
The 27-year-old YouTuber turned boxer made a name for himself by being a polarizing figure. Now, dabbling in the world of combat sports, he refuses to change his ways. After taking on aging Mike Tyson on his last outing, Paul has refocused his attention on Conor McGregor. He called out the UFC superstar to compete in an MMA bout under old school rules.
Taking to X, right after the conclusion of his Mike Tyson fight. Paul challenged the two weight champion to face in MMA. He went as far to as to remove weight classes from the equation, willing to take him on in an open-weight contest. Owing to Paul’s allegiance to the PFL and McGregor still under contract with the UFC, this callout will fall on deaf ears.
Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170lbs. That’s never happening. But let’s run it in MMA. No weight class. Just like how it used to be done. But you won’t

The MMA giant no longer entertains the idea of cross-promotion. It is something Dana White has made quite clear. UFC’s last foray into cross-promotion saw them join hands with Floyd Mayweather back in 2017. Another co-promoted event of that nature seems highly unlikely in the future, which closes the door on Paul to ever compete against McGregor.
