Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is officially a married man after tying the knot with longtime partner Mariah Riddlesprigger. The couple got wedded in a private ceremony held in Greece on Sunday. It was a star-studded event attended by basketball stars, other celebs and even Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The newlyweds also made sure to keep the ceremony strictly by invitation. Only a handful of NBA stars, close family members and other eminent personalities were invited to the ‘secret wedding’. At the request of Antetokounmpo and his girlfriend, press coverage was prohibited at the venue, the Costa Navarino resort near Pylos in Greece. Nonetheless, photos from the marriage showing guests who were in attendance, have now gone viral on the internet.
Among the wedding guests present were many Milwaukee Bucks teammates including Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday, the team owners, and tennis legend Serena Williams. Other notable names present are Olympic medalist LeBron James, Greek national team coach Vassilis Spanoulis, amongst many others.
The marriage celebration lasted for three days, starting on Friday with a “White party”, as all the guests were wearing white. It was followed the next day by a “Nigerian night” and then concluded on Sunday night with the wedding banquet. While much is not known about their relationship, the 1-time NBA champion and Mariah Riddlesprigger are currently a family of five. The lovebirds welcomed sons Liam Charles and Maverick Shai in 2020 and 2021, and then daughter Eva Brooke in 2023.
Giannis Antetokounmpo reflected on injury issues last season
Despite his undeniable talent, Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play much for the Milwaukee Bucks last season. Much of it can be attributed to a lingering injury bothering him since the 2021 Playoffs. As such, the “Greek Freak” wasn’t involved in the final nine games of the Bucks’ season.
His absence soon led to losses for the team, who suffered defeat to the Indiana Pacers over 6 matchups. The 29-year-old took time to reflect on his injury problems last season and talked about his plans moving forward.
That’s the first time in my career this has ever happened to me. I have to do a better job of taking care of my body… You’d be surprised what I do for my body. I have to be a little bit lucky.

According to Antetokounmpo, his teammates will see a stronger athlete when he returns this new season. It appears he has now taken the first step to achieving that, by keeping his home in order.
