Paulo Costa is one of the most popular fighters in the current UFC roster. Over the years, the โEraserโ has developed his English and it has opened up a new humorous side of him to the fight fans. Other than being the meme lord of UFC, Costa is a beast inside the octagon and has been in some wars in recent times. However, as it turned out Costa is not a big fan of the UFC point system.
Paulo Costa was recently invited to the JAXXON Podcast hosted by former UFC heavyweight, Quinton Jackson. During the conversation, Costa brought up his new idea for an open point system. According to the fighter, just like football and basketball, MMA fighters should be able to see live points as they fight.
I think the points would be visible. You know the points by rounds. Some people say, it’s not good because if you are winningโฉ, you are gonna avoid the fight but for the other side, the guy gonna try. You know, bring the fight on. In basketball, football, soccer you know the point, why not in the fight.ย

Many UFC fans have recently expressed their dissatisfaction with the promotionโs contentious scoring system. It has since affected many high-octane fights, with competitors venting their displeasure on the judges. Sean Strickland recently criticized the judges for the dubious scoring in his fight against Costa.
In the same fight, Costa dropped a disaster class and lost the bout via split decision. The Brazilian ran in circles throughout the fight which bored the fans who expected a war between him and Strickland. After the fight, Costa expressed frustration over point-fighting and promised to get back to his old fighting style. However, it seems like Costa is still not over his dissatisfactory performance at UFC 302.
Paulo Costa vows to bring back bloodlust in his next outing
Unsurprisingly, Paulo Costa has not been affected much after the loss and has already gone back to his old self, sharing memes and having fun. However, this doesnโt mean that fighters didnโt learn anything from UFC 302.ย
In the latest tweet on his official account, Costa mentioned that he learned a lot from his mistake and promised to bring back violence in his next fight.
I want to say to my friend and fans itโs all here , the violence and bloodlust. It will show up from now , I took wrong strategy and tactics. I learned the lesson

Costa has already fought twice this year and has lost both the fights. However, he wasnโt visibly hurt in the Strickland fight which is good news. Given his last performance and eagerness to get back, it wonโt be surprising to see the โBorrachinhaโ returning later this year.ย
