LeBron James is certainly one of the greatest to play in the NBA. James was already a star when he entered the league after his high school. Even after many achievements in his career many NBA fans still doubt James and his clutch gene and choose other superstars over him in the clutch.
Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce recently talked about James on the show “Undisputed.” Pierce was asked whom he would choose for the game-winning shot – LeBron James or Kevin Durant. Pierce chose James to make the shot, mentioning the former 4-time MVP’s clutch gene and how good James is when it matters the most.
If my life is on the line and I need this player to come up pretty spectacular, I gotta go with LeBron on that one, I’ve seen it firsthand. I’ve seen some games that I will never forget, that I probably still have nightmares about.
Paul Pierce via Undisputed
Paul Pierce and LeBron James have a great history together with intense matchups in the past. James and Pierce faced a total of 69 times against each other both in the regular season and the playoffs. Pierce has the edge over James in the regular season while James takes the edge in the playoffs. Pierce also recalled the 45-point performance in game 6 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals, back in 2012. After the series, James went on to win his first NBA title.
Pierce even stated that Durant does not have a significant game in his career like James. James will be playing in the 2024 Paris Olympics and will be a part of Team USA. He will be aiming to add another gold medal to his already-established career.
