The UFC welterweight division remains one of the most exciting and fiercely competitive in the sport. This year, Belal Muhammad claimed the throne by dethroning Leon Edwards in a stunning performance. Meanwhile, rising contender Sean Brady is determined to carve his path to the top and stake his claim in the division.
Brady is currently on a two-fight win streak and ranks #5 in the UFC welterweight division. In a recent interview with popular MMA reporter Ariel Helwani, the fighter talked about his future fights and described what he thinks is his biggest challenge.
Brady faced Belal Muhammad at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi, where he suffered his first career loss via TKO. Before the fight, Brady was undefeated and brimming with confidence. Although the loss was devastating, it ultimately allowed him to let go of the immense pressure of maintaining an unbeaten record.

Since then, Brady has beaten top fighters such as Gilbert Burns and Kelvin Gastelum and has proved his capabilities. After his loss, Edwards has chosen to remain away from the limelight. He is still the ranked one welterweight, and fans are eager to see him back inside the octagon.
Belal Muhammad predicts Leon Edwards’s future
Leon Edwards captured his UFC welterweight title by defeating Kamaru Usman at UFC 278 with a historic head kick. After that, in the rematch, Edwards maintained his superiority and became a household name. However, his reign was cut short by Belal Muhammad at UFC 304.
Edwards appeared helpless against Muhammad during their fight, with his game plan falling short. Recently, Muhammad shared his thoughts on Edwards’ future, outlining an ideal path for the former champion. According to Muhammad, he wouldn’t be surprised to see Edwards challenging him again down the line.
Edwards is an incredible striker but doesn’t have a great takedown defense. If he fights Sean Brady, he would like to keep the bout on the feet. However, Brady has the ability to mix it up and use his momentum to overshadow Edwards.
