The buzz around Oviya escalated when a supposed intimate video of her started circulating online. Despite keeping mum in public, the actress seemed to hint at the issue on her Instagram account. In a recent News 18 report, it was revealed that Oviya has stepped up and filed a complaint with the Chennai police commissioner.
In a conversation with the media, Oviya’s manager verified that the actress has taken legal action against those responsible and asserted that the video was doctored. The manager expressed, “It’s a manipulated video crafted to besmirch Oviya’s reputation. She has escalated the matter to the police commissioner and plans to pursue necessary legal recourse against the perpetrator.”
The manager emphasized the sensitivity of the situation and refrained from disclosing further details about the accused. Additionally, Oviya, known for her stint on Bigg Boss Tamil, has reportedly been struggling since the video surfaced.
Following the circulation of the alleged private video, Oviya took to her Instagram the following day, sharing a selfie with crossed fingers. Subsequently, numerous followers flooded the comments section, inquiring about the leaked footage.
Amidst the queries, one user made an inappropriate demand for the full video. Instead of lashing out, Oviya responded with composure, saying, “Next time, bro.” Her composed reply garnered praise, showcasing her poise in handling the situation.
Oviya garnered fame through her participation in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1 back in 2017. Prior to that, she entered the film industry with the Prithviraj Sukumaran-led Kangaroo. Over the years, she collaborated with director Sarkunam and marked her Tamil debut with Kalavani. Some of her notable works include Muthukku Muthaaga, Vengai, and Sevanu, among others.
