Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier is a galvanizing presence in the 155-pound weight class. He plans to take the lightweight title from Islam Makhachev at UFC 302. The thing about diamonds, though, is that they are multifaceted; they shine bright at all planes and levels. Now, he is expanding into acting with a new Bud Light promo.

The fan-friendly stylistic heavy-hitter isn’t amiss of feats. With nine Fight Night bonuses, Dustin Poirier boasts explosive battles. He outshines stiffer adversaries, as explicit from UFC 299’s five-round co-main event. The former interim lightweight champ has also branched his portfolio into several other avenues. Esteemed journalists Ariel Helwani and Mike Bohn reported on it.

Poirier engineered the Louisiana Style “Hot Sauce”  — a condimental collaboration with Heartbeat Hot Sauce, which now serves as the go-to hot sauce for UFC events. The Lafayette native also started the “Rare Stash” bourbon, giving celebrity brands a run for their money. Now, ahead of his title fight against Islam Makhachev next month, he joins up with Bud Light.

Bud Light previously sponsored the UFC from 2008 to 2017 before Modelo took over. But in 2024, it reunited with Anheuser-Busch’s brand for a multi-year deal. This started at UFC 299. Surprisingly enough, the fighter starred in another crisp but interesting promo a while back. Beware Conor McGregor! There’s a new Hollywood hit in town, and he shines bright as a Diamond.

Dustin Poirier was unfazed by Bud Light controversy

Back in time, when CEO Anheuser-Busch‘s sponsorship deal for Bud Light ended in 2017, there wasn’t much love lost. It gave way to Modelo’s new eight-figure deal as the beer sponsor for UFC. Last year, ESPN MMA‘s Marc Raimondi nudged the existence of a renewed 6-year deal with Bud Light beer. However, by then, fans were taken aback by the indulgence, as trans-activist Dylan Mulvaney’s association with the company had sent shockwaves.

Hence, anything that had to do with the company was considerably diminished. Fighters who supported or sported Bud Light brand merch also became collateral to said controversy. Those like Sean Strickland and Colby Covington jumped the trendy bandwagon of dissing the company. Not all, though.

Dustin Poirier joined up with the parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev after his UFC 299 win. He had nothing but positive notions about the partnership.

Dude, I’m pumped up about this. Bud Light, Budweiser is an American brand that’s been around… It’s historic, it’s been involved in sports forever…When I got the call to be on the team, I was super excited…It is what it is [on the controversy].

Poirier mentioned that notwithstanding their renewed 6-year clause, Bud Light has remained a striking presence “in the Octagon for a long time.” He also said that if at all, the company had its share of takeaway from the controversies and is sure to improve upon public perceptions. Poirier also remains hopeful for a prime brand value partnership when he locks horns with Islam Makhachev in June.
