Skip Bayless has never been beloved as a sports pundit, nor has he attempted to be universally agreeable. Recent allegations made by a former Fox Sports hairstylist, however, will leave him looking in the worst public light that he’s ever been exposed. Explosive new revelations have emerged in a wide-ranging lawsuit filed by professional hairstylist Noushin Faraji.
Ms Faraji has filed a case with 14 different charges, including 6 class action complaints against other nonexempt Fox Sports employees and 8 individual complaints. The 42-page lawsuit, first brought to public light by Front Office Sports on Sunday afternoon, has named popular host Joy Taylor, Skip Bayless and FS1 Executive Vice President of Content Charlie Dixon.
When it comes specifically to allegations against Skip Bayless, Ms Faraji’s statement does not do him any favors. According to the lawsuit, it began with him requesting a weekly haircut done by her soon after joining FS1 in October 2016. She states that after a few weeks of getting familiar, he began to touch her in unwanted fashion. This includes hugging and kissing her on the cheek.
The harassment went up a notch in May 2017 when Ms Faraji alleges that he called her ‘voluptuous’. He also offered her $1.5 million to have sex with her with promises of ‘changing her life’, according to the statement. She went on to state that she didn’t report this misbehavior to HR for fear of workplace consequences, given Skip’s position of power. The ordeal continued till November 2017, when she had to take medical leave for 40 days.
Both Skip Bayless and Joy Taylor in hot water following Noushin Faraji lawsuit
The lawsuit also states that FS1 Executive VP for content Charlie Dixon had an affair with Joy Taylor. Taylor, at the time (May 2016), had recently been married to Richard Giannotti. However, around the same time, Ms Taylor was often spotted with Mr Dixon by Ms Faraji at parties together.
Ms. Taylor’s husband became suspicious that Ms. Taylor and Mr. Dixon were having a sexual relationship. He later found evidence of the inappropriate relationship and divorced Ms. Taylor.
Given all of this information, NBA Twitter has gone ballistic against both Joy Taylor and Skip Bayless, with the latter sharing the lion’s share of their ire.
The magnitude of both the class-action lawsuit against Fox and its employees, as well as the individual lawsuits against Joy Taylor, Skip Bayless and other FS1 executives, means that the reputations of all the involved parties are sure to take a nosedive for the near future.
Skip Bayless is currently using his own YouTube platform to run custom sports segments and is not contracted to any major media company. Given the backdrop of these allegations, any chances of a comeback to mainstream TV are looking dead in the water.
