Aaron Rodgers is one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever throw the spiral. The New York Jets signal-caller has enjoyed a memorable NFL career so far and has been an inspiration for thousands of people across the country. One among them is the former United States President Barack Obama.

During an interview with Bill Simmons back in 2015, the 44th President of the United States Barack Obama compared himself to then-Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers in the sense of the talented quarterback’s pocket awareness.

“Maybe [Aaron] Rodgers in the pocket, in the sense of you can’t be distracted by what’s around you, you’ve got to be looking downfield. And I think that’s a quality that I have, not getting flustered in what’s around me,” said Obama in an interview with GQ Magazine.

Barack Obama is a Chicago Bears fan. So it must’ve been hard for him to praise a Green Bay quarterback. Nonetheless, Rodgers was flattered by Obama’s comment and even noted that it must’ve hurt him as a Bears fan to praise him. “Well, I know that’s probably tough for him because he’s a big Bear fan. I appreciate that,” said Rodgers according to ESPN.

And now, Obama can enjoy Aaron Rodgers’ game without feeling guilty since Rodgers left the Packers in the 2023 off-season. The 10-time Pro Bowl QB was traded to the New York Jets in exchange for some draft picks.

The biggest storyline of the 2023 off-season was Aaron Rodgers’ trade saga. The Packers finally traded Rodgers to the Jets just ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Rodgers will now look to lead the young core of the NY Jets to their first playoff appearance since 2010. The Jets have a strong roster full of young and exciting players. All they needed was a good quarterback. That’s why they aggressively pursued the 39-year-old veteran Rodgers in the off-season.

Rodgers has a massive task ahead of him. Making it to playoffs from the AFC East division wouldn’t be a walk in the park. There are 2 potential contenders in the AFC East division, the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins. Facing them 2 times each is not an ideal thing for the Jets.

Still, if Aaron Rodgers and some of the key Jets players can stay healthy, they certainly have a shot at clinching a playoff spot and even winning the Super Bowl.
