The boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul garnered a lot of negative traction than positive. UFC CEO Dana White has never been one to mince words. He didn’t hold back when asked about the bizarre exhibition boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson recently postponed by Netflix.

White was recently present on the Flagrant Podcast. He gave his unfiltered thoughts on the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. The UFC CEO believed this fight was a disgrace and felt Tyson was too old to fight a younger Paul.

Tyson will be 58 f****g years old. Under any circumstances, a f****g almost 60 year old man shouldn’t be fighting a 27 year old f****g guy. Under any circumstances…Nobody wants to see Mike get beaten by this jerkoff.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was set to face the 57-year-old former heavyweight champion on July 20. However, the bout was postponed due to Tyson suffering from a stomach condition. The outspoken White also took shots at Paul’s legitimacy as a pro boxer. The way he sees it, Paul suffered his lone defeat when facing a “real” boxer. White felt that Paul would avoid that competition by chasing glorified exhibitions.

While millions would still likely tune in to witness a Paul vs Tyson freak show, White’s pointed criticism raises valid concerns. White’s full-throated objections made it clear where he stands. The rant highlighted Dana White‘s disdain for subjecting a senior citizen to such a grotesque mismatch under the guise of sport.

The much-hyped and heavily criticized exhibition boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson hit a snag recently. This came after Mike Tyson had some health issues. But according to veteran MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, Netflix is determined to make this bout happen, no matter what.

Helwani talked about this on a recent episode of The MMA Hour. He revealed that when Paul vs. Tyson fell through, Netflix was bombarded with replacement options to save the event date. However, the streaming giant showed zero interest in any substitutes.

I can tell you this, once the fight fell through, several names were presented to Netflix as replacement opponents to save the date, to save the event. And from what I was told, Netflix was steadfast that their first live boxing event, they want it to be Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. So, they had a handful of names. They were not interested. They want to wait for that and hope to do it in the fourth quarter.

Helwani’s update highlighted Netflix’s tunnel vision in making this wildly controversial matchup a reality. The streaming platform has its heart set on the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer taking on the 57-year-old former heavyweight champion and cultural icon. Whether that calculated gambit pays off remains to be seen.
