Former POTUS Donald Trump is a close friend of UFC CEO Dana White. Their friendship extends back to when the UFC was not a premier sporting promotion. Most UFC fans are also big Trump supporters, evidenced by their warm reception. As such, it was unsurprising to see him get the loudest pop when he arrived to watch UFC 302 at the Prudential Center.
Trump had already announced he would be at UFC 302 through his Truth Social app. As such, fight fans expected his arrival. The former POTUS arrived just before the PPV card started. Walking alongside Dana White, Trump received a hero reception at the venue despite his recent conviction in a New York courtroom.
Despite the conviction, Trump received support from notable celebrities from different walks of life. Trump supporters found the conviction a legal ploy by Democrats to hinder his presidential ambitions. Elon Musk even expressed his discontent with Trump’s conviction.

Trump also received support from the sporting world. UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler was among the first from the promotion to show his stand. Boxer Ryan Garcia had also done something similar for the former US President.

Donald Trump was the first sitting US President to attend a UFC event. He had done it before and after he became the POTUS. Trump has always sent the audience in the arena to go wild with his walkouts. Trump’s walkout at UFC 295 with Kid Rock, Tucker Carlson, and Dana White received one of the loudest pops ever.

Most of the UFC fighters are big fans of Trump. Justin Gaethje, Colby Covington, and Jorge Masvidal have been vocal about their support. At UFC 302, Kevin Holland defeated Michal Oleksiejczuk, jumped off the cage, and shook hands with Trump, followed by Dana White and Sean Shelby. Alex Pereira had met Trump earlier and taken a picture before he arrived in the arena.
