Former POTUS Donald Trump is a close friend of UFC CEO Dana White. Their friendship extends back to when the UFC was not a premier sporting promotion. Most UFC fans are also big Trump supporters, evidenced by their warm reception. As such, it was unsurprising to see him get the loudest pop when he arrived to watch UFC 302 at the Prudential Center.

Trump had already announced he would be at UFC 302 through his Truth Social app. As such, fight fans expected his arrival. The former POTUS arrived just before the PPV card started. Walking alongside Dana White, Trump received a hero reception at the venue despite his recent conviction in a New York courtroom.

Despite the conviction, Trump received support from notable celebrities from different walks of life. Trump supporters found the conviction a legal ploy by Democrats to hinder his presidential ambitions. Elon Musk even expressed his discontent with Trump’s conviction.

Trump also received support from the sporting world. UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler was among the first from the promotion to show his stand. Boxer Ryan Garcia had also done something similar for the former US President.
