Saquon Barkleyโ€™s impact on the Philadelphia Eagles has been monumental. His swashbuckling style of play, defense-splitting runs, and outrageous Madden-like skills recently draw comparison with a great of another game.

Before the much-awaited Harbaugh Bowl at SoFi Stadium, Mina Kimes, Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, and Dan Orlovsky discussed Barkleyโ€™s historic game against the Rams just one day ago on Sunday. Barkley ran for 255 yards on the ground from 26 attempts and scored two rushing touchdowns.

Kimes said the Pro Bowlerโ€™s season reminded her of Kevin Durant when he left the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors in 2016, won two NBA titles, and made multiple All-Star appearances.

You guys remember when Kevin Durant joined the Warriors in 2016? Thatโ€™s how I feel about. If you take something thatโ€™s already great and then add someone whoโ€™s unbelievable, itโ€™s an incredible combination.

Mina Kimes said

Barkley crossed 213 yards before any Rams defender could touch him. Kimes also batted for running backs to get more money, which has been a running issue. The franchises tend to pay less because a running backโ€™s shelf life is very short, and they can move on to the next one by paying cheap money.

Kimes argued that if a team has a great offensive line to pair with an explosive running back, itโ€™s a recipe for success, and the Eagles are a good example.

Itโ€™s ironic for Kimes to compare Barkley to Durant because the legendary hooper wasnโ€™t happy to see the Penn State graduate join the Eagles. Being a Commanders fan, Durant foresaw the devastation he would bring to the NFC East.

  • 1st Team All-Pro: $500,000
  • Pro Bowl (Original Ballot): $250,000
  • 2,000+ Scrimmage Yards: $250,000
  • 1,000+ Rush Yards and Super Bowl Win: $250,000

The 27-year-old surpassed the 1500 scrimmage yards for the season during the Rams game, earning him an additional $250,000. He already bagged a check after getting 1000 scrimmage yards, and his next target will be 2000 with six games left.

Interestingly, there are no incentives linked to scoring touchdowns. Itโ€™s not unusual for teams to insert one for a skill position player.
