While discussing his desire not to be remembered solely as a one-time All-Star, DeRozan remarked with Teague, a one-time All-Star, sitting right there. The entire podcast crew erupted in laughter at DeRozan’s inadvertent dig towards Teague. Later on, DeRozan humorously attempted to assure Teague that he wasn’t intentionally taking a shot at him.

Teague, a former NBA star who played for the Atlanta Hawks, made his first All-Star appearance in 2015. However, that would also be his last. But Pop had called me out of the blue and just was like, ‘Look, we didn’t trade you, we traded for you.’ When I let that sink in, I was like, ‘Damn, he got a point.

DeRozan always felt a deep connection with Toronto and its fans. It was a shock to many to see the Raptors trading DeRozan. Eventually, the Raptors went on to win the NBA championship in 2019 by defeating the Golden State Warriors with Kawhi Leonard leading the squad.
