Nate Diaz was finally able to get one back on Jorge Masvidal. The first time featured the quest for the inaugural BMF belt, which Masvidal won at UFC 244. This time, it was a ring instead of a cage. The duo clashed in the Fanmio Pay-per-view ‘Last Man Standing’ card in Anaheim. At the end of it, both stood strong, and Nate Diaz defeated Masvidal by a majority decision (95-95, 97-93, 98-92).

When the bell sounded for the 10th round, both fighters were still sound. They each gave a moment of respect before Diaz came out the winner. Both are not really seasoned boxers, but the entertainment was as pure as a championship fight. Jorge Masvidal slugged it out with the Stockton pride for ten rounds. According to official stats, the pioneer gangsters threw a combined 1394 punches!

It was a volume vs. power affair with ‘Gamebred’ opting for single or dual-punch power-shot combos. For just his second pro boxing tint, Masvidal connected on some definitive shots. Meanwhile, ex-UFC fame Diaz exercised his hard chin to the greatest (think Jiri Pochazka awkwardly defending strikes with his forehead), flurrying Masvidal in late rounds.

Neither of them wobbled despite the powerful impact. The younger Diaz brother, as usual, showboated his way to the top. In a pro-Diaz Honda Center in Anaheim, he won hearts with off-target glances and pump-fakes. Nate Diaz made a few callouts during his in-ring interview, and after, his callouts have served back their reply.

Nate Diaz not showboating his way to a win would be out of character. Keep in mind, this is the same cardio king who flipped a wobbled Leon Edwards for the coolest photogenic pause (UFC 263: Adesanya vs. Vettori 2). In an interview with Brian Campbell, he called on Jake Paul again; the latter had some thoughts on that.

After the majority decision victory, Diaz turned attention to a few of his old foes – Paul and ‘Rocky’ included. Despite hailing praises on Edwards as the best template of a UFC welterweight right now, he doused some warring words for Paul. It didn’t take long for a social media response to come, mocking Diaz’s iconic stutter with a wave of Diaz-like profanity.

Oh, the heart is still beating, [tweet caption] Fu*k you Nate Diaz you’re a h*e who ducked my PFL $15m MMA offer…Masvidal trash too smh.

Paul, 9-1 (6KOs), is to be credited for a decision loss in Diaz’s boxing debut. Signed with PFL, he has yet to make his debut in the sport. With the lucrative cross-promotional freedom it allows, he threw Jorge Masvidal and Diaz a chance to make bank along the lines of $10 million in a PFL fight. He then upped it by some. As such, this rivalry might just take shape again just yet.
