Movsar Evloev strikes at Aljamain Sterling again on social media. The UFC featherweight has called out the former bantamweight champion for delaying a potential fight between the two. His callout even got a response from Sterling himself.

Movsar Evloev recently sent out a tweet on X. The tweet was directed at Aljamain Sterling saying that ‘The Funk Master’ had declined his offer for a July showdown.

After all that big talk, Sterling says he won’t be ready until October. I can’t just sit and wait for him. I’m ready to go as early as July. I’ll accept a fight with anyone who thinks they have a chance against me. Is there really no one available who’s up for the challenge?

Evloev currently ranks #5 in the UFC featherweight rankings. He is looking for a showdown that would bring him closer to a title shot by the end of this year. Sterling and the Russian have mutually expressed wanting to take a go at each other. However, after recent comments, things look slim for a potential showdown between the two.

Sterling responded with statements of his own. He sent out a tweet on X, where he wrote how he had told everybody for the longest time that he would fight in September. ‘The Funk Master’ also made an interesting statement where he wrote that he was the ‘former’ champion so they would fight when he said they would.

Come on bro, I called you out after my fight at UFC 300, to fight at International Fight Week. You didn’t respond or show your face. Now you’re here saying “Anyone you think can beat me“

It will be interesting to see if Evloev does take up a rematch against the Brazilian. He is still undefeated going 18-0, but his last fight was at UFC 297. Meanwhile, Lopes fought at UFC 300 beating Sodiq Yusuff. The Russian is way up the ranks in the featherweight division while, Lopes is #14 with three fights under his belt. Will Evloev grant the Brazilian a showdown at International Fight Week? Only time will tell.
