UFC middleweight Bruno Silva was a promising prospect when he debuted for the promotion via a KO finish. However, after three consecutive losses, the Brazilian fighter has encountered difficulties inside and beyond the octagon. Surprisingly, his former opponent, Chris Weidman, is just the appropriate person to rub it in against Silva now.

According to reports, Bruno Silva has failed a drug test and has accepted a six-month sanction. The announcement was made by the Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD), and the serving period started in April. This news prompted Weidman to mock his former rival via X. The โ€˜All-Americanโ€™ mentioned that it was Silvaโ€™s second time failing a drug test in his professional career.

Very interestingโ€ฆ 2nd failure in his careerโ€ฆ likely im told that could be from microdosing anabolics as well.ย

Silva and Weidman locked horns earlier this year in March, and the latter originally won via TKO. However, it was controversial, given the eye-poke combo landed by Weidman, which forced the Brazilian fighter to stop fighting. Later, the TKO result was overturned by the Athletic Commission to a decision win. Although Weidman took the victory, Silva was furious and complained that he was poked thrice by the veteran.ย

However, Weidman had a different perspective and didnโ€™t like Silva dropping to the ground and crying during the fight. According to the fighter, MMA is a tough sport, as he also suffered a brutal eye injury during the clash. Nevertheless, it was Weidmanโ€™s first win since his leg injury against Uriah Hall in 2021. On top of it, Weidman already has another fight set up for him later this year.ย

Whatโ€™s next for Chris Weidman?

Chris Weidmanโ€™s leg injury against Uriah Hall was brutal as the fighter snapped his tibia during a leg kick. Following the incident, Conor McGregor also suffered the same fate at UFC 264. Nonetheless, Weidman has now fully recovered and is currently on his comeback trail. Irrespective of the controversy, the last win has boosted his confidence.ย

Weidman recently announced that he will fight Eryk Anders in November at UFC 309 inside the iconic Madison Square Garden. Anders is a former American football linebacker and LFA champion. Weidman is excited about the fight and wants to continue his winning momentum.ย

UFC 309 is also rumored to be the card headlined by UFC heavyweight champion and megastar Jon Jones. โ€˜Bonesโ€™ is expected to fight heavyweight GOAT Stipe Miocic in his first title defense. Although there has been no official announcement regarding the bout, the signs are pretty much obvious.
