Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are trying to garner as much support as possible ahead of the voting deadline. With several celebrities voicing their opinion on the matter, the former President allegedly received support from NBA legend Michael Jordan.
The alleged endorsement was shared by Republican supporters on the social media platform X. Considering his fame amongst all, be it sports fans or not, the post understandably went viral. Many of Donald Trump‘s supporters even came out to certify the six-time champion as the GOAT over LeBron James, who has Kamala Harris.
However, some pointed out that Jordan has never supported any politician. That led many media houses to seek out a response from representatives of the legend. The Daily Mail ran a story where they managed to get a response from them.
Jordan famously once mentioned that ‘Republicans buy sneakers too’. That has always been his stance when it comes to endorsing politicians. The 61-year-old has kept the same stance now also, even though many were pleading with the six-time NBA Finals MVP to pick a side.
However, Jordan prefers to stay away from the topic. While he does his best to support people who need help with his hospitals and other endeavors, he stays away from politics as it could divide citizens who also happen to be his fans.
Michael Jordan’s daughter was appalled by fake endorsement
Michael Jordan’s second son Marcus Jordan has found himself in the limelight on countless occasions. Jordan’s other children, however, prefer to keep a lower profile than usual. That said, on rare occasions, they will speak out if needed.
The Chicago Bulls great’s daughter Jasmine M. Jordan saw this entire fiasco surrounding Donald Trump unfold. Once her father’s representatives gave their official response and it found its way into the news, she decided to make a point about it.
Her response indicates the frustrations the Jordan family has had to endure with the fake endorsement. Not only does it take away from the lifelong stance Michael Jordan has kept but it also could split his fans, possibly denting his legacy.
