Dave Bautista, a former wrestler for WWE and Marvel superstar, has now achieved success in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. In a post from the day before, Bautista mentioned receiving his Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt. The brown belt level demands a great deal of mastery and maturity, which takes a lot of time for individuals to achieve.
Dave Bautista posted about his journey on Instagram while sharing the great news. He expressed his gratitude to the jiu-jitsu school run by Cesar Gracie, where he had first begun his adventure in 2010. The former WWE world heavyweight champion revealed that since the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 in 2014, he has not been able to give time to BJJ as much as he wanted.
He wrote: “Very proud to be posting this. I started training BJJ with @cesargraciebjj @graciefighterph in 2010 and even though I got my a** handed to me by everyone at the academy, I immediately fell in love. It’s a puzzle I’ll never solve and if you know me, you know I get obsessed with things I can’t figure out. It’s been a challenging process with my work schedule, in fact I barely trained from 2014 when I got my purple belt to 2021. Last fall I dedicated myself to progressing and this week it finally happened.” in his Instagram post.
With the release of the third GOTG movie in March, it appears that Dave will be able to return to BJJ once his commitments at Marvel Studios are completed.
