To decide on an NBA Cup winner, the Oklahoma City Thunder faced the Milwaukee Bucks. What they did not know was that they were facing a motivated Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co.
Antetokounmpo single-handedly toppled the Thunder to claim the NBA Cup. Each member on the winning squad receives $500,000, while each player on the losing team receives $200,000.
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Thunder 97-81 in the NBA Cup Final on Tuesday in Las Vegas. This was possible due to a dominant second half led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who finished with 26 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists, and Damian Lillard, who scored 23 points. This result would mean a lot to the Bucks, especially considering their 2-8 NBA start to this season.

Bucks fans were left ecstatic with their star man Antetokounmpo’s performance in the match. One fan wrote on X, “Man was possessed tonight” after witnessing his match-winning performance against a gritty Thunder side. With this win, the Bucks will now turn their attention towards the 2024-25 NBA season as their star man earlier said, “The job is not done yet!”

As for the Thunder, Isaiah Hartenstein scored 16 points and pulled down 12 boards, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led OKC with 21 points. But it was insufficient as the Thunder shot a poor 5-of-32 from beyond the arc and lost 47-31 in the second half. The top seed in the West will look to get their revenge in the NBA Playoffs this season, that is if these two sides meet in the future.

After a sluggish start to the season, Doc Rivers‘ team has made significant progress. The Bucks have been through it all this season, moving up from the bottom few seeds in the East to the No. 5 spot and now, winning the NBA Cup in Las Vegas.
