In a recent development, actor Siddique found himself at the Cantonment Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram, summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for further inquiry into a rape case. However, the officials were met with resistance as Siddique appeared reluctant to cooperate with the investigation. As reported by the Statesman, a team led by Superintendent of Police Merin Joseph questioned Siddique at the police station over the weekend.

During the interrogation, Siddique seemed evasive and failed to provide clear answers to the team’s inquiries. He claimed ignorance about the whereabouts of his phone, which was reportedly in his possession at the time of the alleged incident. The investigating team expressed frustration, stating that Siddique failed to present crucial digital evidence and only shared bank records.

In light of Siddique’s non-compliance, the SIT made a decision not to issue any further summons for questioning. Instead, they plan to inform the Supreme Court about the actor’s lack of cooperation and seek his custody for the ongoing investigation.

This development comes after Siddique’s initial appearance before the SIT on October 7, where he was questioned regarding a sexual assault case filed against him by a young actress. The actress accused Siddique of raping her at the Mascot Hotel in Kochi back in 2016.

Recalling the harrowing experience, the actress recounted how Siddique had lured her to the hotel under false pretenses after an event at a local theater in Thiruvananthapuram. She described being confined in a room, subjected to physical abuse, and coerced by Siddique. Her chilling words echoed, “He abused me physically and told me it was okay if I didnโ€™t allow him to cross the limits.”
