Elias, along with his kayfabe brother Ezekiel’s storyline, was indulging back in 2022. A clean-shaven trunk-wearer with shorter hair, Elias, was declared his younger brother. Kevin Owens feuded with him over his disapproval of Ezekiel’s existence. But Ezekiel was then told to be out because of a kayfabe injury, and Elias continued his sporadic appearances.
After having a well-built storyline, the Ezekiel character was dropped by WWE in September. While Elias was randomly brought down to the TV, he had matches with several stars without any storylines. And to add to that progression, even now WWE has not found a way to keep him on any roster or any fixed storyline.
When Ringside News investigated WWE about Elias’ status, all they got to know was that there were unclear plans for him. Ever since Triple H took over the reins as the creative head. The creative team at WWE has been divided into people assigned to respective storylines. And no segment of those teams has any idea about Elias’s future in the company.
He remained a free agent during the WWE Draft 2023 but hasn’t appeared on any brand since then. In this way, it could be thought that a lack of ideas has resulted in Elias disappearing from TV. As no ideas are being openly pitched for his return, or it could be a confirmation of his contract expiration with the company. As time goes forward, plans could lead to his return, but it is not sure when or where it could happen.
Elias won his last match back in October 2022
Ever since Elias made his debut in 2018, his heel character has had him playing guitar and smashing his opponents. But over the course, his character has not developed much and he has remained a jobber in the company. He was liked by the audience last year when he was proving Ezekiel (the clean-shaven Elias) to be his younger brother.
Elias has not been seen recently on TV, and to make it worse, he has not even won a match since the previous October. He has had matches at frequent intervals with stars like Solo Sikoa, Bronson Reed, Bobby Lashley, and Omos but has suffered losses in every match. He has only been used as an enhancement talent for years.
His last win came against Chad Gable on October 24, 2022, during an episode of RAW. With his prominence decreasing over time, he remained a free agent during the WWE Draft 2023. But even after having the freedom to be on any show, he has not appeared on any brand since then.
