Since his retirement from UFC in 2022, Luke Rockhold has been busy trying his luck in various other promotions. From BKFC to Karate Combat to CJI, Rockhold has done it all. However, at the age of 39, Rockhold is open to more challenges, and former rival Mike Perry is his target.
Luke Rockhold is currently signed to Karate Combat, where he has fought once before. Recently, the President of Karate Combat, Asim Zaidi, visited the JAXXON Podcast with Rockhold. During the conversation, the former UFC champion mentioned that he is in top shape and wants to fight Mike Perry.
I’m feeling better than I ever felt and I would like to get the right opponent. I would Perry in about one minute (in Karate Combat). I’ll put my whole paycheck on the line…that I will knock him out.

In his last fight in Karate Combat, Rockhold flatlined his experienced opponent, Joe Schilling. It was the fighter’s first victory since 2017 when he defeated David Branch via TKO. The win has pushed Rockhold’s confidence, and it was evident with his recent rant against Sean Strickland.
Recently, Rockhold also went viral for grappling with UFC middleweight Khamzat Chimaev at the HFC Fight Show. It’s a Russian-based show where Rockhold acts as a coach for the other contenders. While the momentum is currently with Rockhold, the results were not good when he last faced ‘Platinum’ Perry.
When Mike Perry forced Luke Rockhold to quit in between a BKFC fight
Mike Perry defeated Luke Rockhold in BKFC 41 on April 29, 2023. The bout began competitively, but Perry’s pressure and power eventually prevailed. Perry landed a hit in the second round that severely damaged Rockhold’s teeth, prompting Rockhold to signal his inability to continue. The referee halted the fight and declared Perry the winner via TKO.

On the other hand, Perry continued his dominance in the BKFC with wins over Eddie Alvarez, Thiago Alves, etc. The ‘King of Violence’ has since established himself as a big name in combat sports. However, with his recent brutal boxing loss against Jake Paul, ‘Platinum’ is looking for a comeback.
