Lokesh Kanagaraj, the renowned filmmaker, has just made a thrilling announcement about his highly anticipated project with Suriya. In a recent media interaction, he revealed his plans to give Rolex its own standalone film after the success of Vikram, starring the legendary Kamal Haasan. Not stopping there, he teased the idea of a groundbreaking LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) movie after completing Coolie with the iconic Rajinikanth.
“I saved the Rolex scene to end Vikram on a high note. Now that I have developed the character of Rolex, I am excited to delve deeper into his story with a standalone film. Once Coolie wraps up, I have grand plans for an LCU film that will bring together all the talented actors from the universe,” Lokesh Kanagaraj shared with enthusiasm.
Speaking about his commitment to the LCU, Lokesh expressed his dedication to crafting movies within this universe for the next five years. “The LCU universe has been set in motion, and it deserves a fitting conclusion. The next five years will see a series of films expanding this universe,” Lokesh elaborated.
Adding to the excitement, the visionary director hinted at a possible sequel to Leo, tentatively titled “Parthiban.” Leo, featuring the charismatic Thalapathy Vijay, was a box office sensation. However, with Vijay currently immersed in his final project Thalapathy 69 before transitioning into politics, the fate of Leo 2 remains uncertain.
Despite these future projects, Lokesh Kanagaraj is presently focused on the imminent release of Coolie, his much-anticipated collaboration with the legendary Rajinikanth. Discussing the progress of the film, Lokesh expressed his determination to wrap up shooting within the next six months.
Amidst recent health concerns that led Rajinikanth to undergo a medical procedure at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, the superstar is set to join the sets of Coolie on October 16. The star-studded cast of the film includes Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and many more.
