While tension rose back home in California, LeBron James toyed with a triple-double on Tuesday evening as the Los Angeles Lakers played the Dallas Mavericks on the road. On the other hand, firefighters battled desperately to contain flames that were burning just outside of Los Angeles. The situation has gotten more tense, with everyone offering their support for the people going through this disaster.

Interestingly, James is one of them. However, the Lakers star stated a few weeks prior that he won’t use social media. He said so due to the negativity he observed on X/Twitter and Instagram after the US Presidential Election of 2024. However, he broke his hiatus and took to X to offer ‘prayers’ for the people suffering from the LA Wildfires.

In addition to causing the evacuation of over 30,000 people, the wildfires just outside of Los Angeles have claimed several lives. Together, the fires have destroyed thousands of businesses and ruined over 15,000 acres of property. Sadly, the LA County Fire Department lacks the necessary manpower to combat the expanding fires.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday night, Lakers head coach J.J. Redick provided some insight into the team’s locker room mentality. Redick’s words about ‘unity and strength’ needed in this situation made James’ six-word social media statement all the more fitting. The NBA also postponed the games of the Los Angeles-based teams due to the ongoing turmoil.

LeBron James’ son Bronny James took to socials to offer support for LA Wildfires victims

The LA Wildfires have already damaged thousands of houses and businesses. Players and coaches have taken to social media to show their support for the city, and the NBA community has come together. Bronny James, a Lakers rookie and the son of LeBron James joined others in urging assistance.

It is still very difficult to contain the blaze. The city will have to pay billions of dollars to repair the Palisades alone, which are home to many athletes and stars. According to league insiders, the NBA will keep an eye on the situation before deciding whether to hold any further games in Los Angeles.

The NBA also offered its full support for the current situation, as they realized a statement on their official website earlier this week. All eyes will now shift to the league’s statement regarding the fixtures in Los Angeles.
