LeBron James‘ post retirement plan had always involved him owning an NBA franchise with speculation that James may lead efforts to bring a new team to Las Vegas. However, he hinted at a desire to test the waters of another venture when he appeared in a recent interview with Mike Golic and Mike Golic Jr.
During the interview, LeBron James shared his interest in following the path of NFL legend Tom Brady, who signed a $375 million 10 year contract with FOX, and has made a successful move into sports media. Those that have been following the four-time NBA winner closely know that he has a knack for making wise business moves.
You know, I don’t know. I definitely love the sport. It would be great (becoming a broadcaster). I see Tom Brady doing it, and he’s been great so far. And, you know, we will see, even if it’s just a guest appearance, you know, one game or two when I’m done playing.

For now, King James remains committed to his basketball career as he recently signed a two-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers, which will keep him on the team until the end of the 2025-26 season. Furthermore, the extension includes an option for him to opt into the final year of his deal, giving him flexibility over his future.
And as the new season begins, the chance of fulfilling a long-held dream of playing alongside his son, Bronny, would come to pass. The Lakers begin the new season with a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As the new season approaches, one of the major storylines for the Lakers is the potential for LeBron and Bronny James to make history as the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA. LeBron, who will be entering his 22nd season, has long spoken about his dream and it came closer when Bronny was drafted by the Lakers in the second round, despite some nepotistic criticism surrounding the pick.
However, according to ESPN’s Zach Lowe on the Bill Simmons podcast, Bronny will probably share the floor with his dad on Opening Night, which will allow the team to fulfill the father-son storyline early in the season. A smart approach as it could prevent the situation from becoming a season-long distraction.
He’s 100% playing in the opening game so they can have a moment together. That’s going to happen, so they pass to each other or whatever it ends up being.

For now, when the duo will play together still remains uncertain but there’s a chance that Bronny, who played limited minutes during his time at USC, is expected to spend most of his rookie season developing in the G League. But his father’s influence on the team will ensure that he gets enough minutes to fulfill his dream.
