Jamahal Hill promises to comeback even stronger after UFC 300 loss

Jamahal Hill finally erupted on Alex Pereira for UFC 300 knockout antics. The former light heavyweight champion made a direct post on Instagram, calling out Pereira for his viral celebration. He also made a promise to ‘Poatan’ which has set up an interesting prospect for a rematch between the two.

Jamahal Hill recently shared a collaged pic of him, Glover Teixeira, and Alex Pereira on Instagram. On the left was Jamahal Hill on his knees with Teixeira after ‘Sweet Dreams’ beat the MMA icon at UFC 283. Meanwhile, on the right was ‘Poatan’ at UFC 300 celebrating over Hill’s head.

@alexpoatanpereira you really setup a punch you couldn’t get to without a weird confusing moment and did some weak sh*t but it ok because you will fight me again and my eyes won’t leave you until your as stiff as Izzy left you in Miami!!!

Glover Teixeira is Alex Pereira’s trainer and mentor and the second-oldest fighter to win a UFC title. Hill took that title away from him when he defeated Teixeira at UFC 283. However, ‘Sweet Dreams’ lost the title later that summer due to injury. Meanwhile, Alex Pereira transitioned into the light-heavyweight division and took over the division.

Hill made a comeback earlier this year in April and the two headlined the iconic UFC 300 main event. Their fight did not last that long because just three minutes into the first round, ‘Poatan’ knocked the former champion to the ground. The Brazilian engaged in some ground and pound until the referee separated the two and it was right then when Pereira did his “emote celebration” that went viral on social media.

Jamahal Hill promises the next fight will be even better

“Sweet Dreams” also made a promise to his fans. In the comment section of that post, he made a callback to his previous first-round loss. With just two losses in his entire professional career, there was only one other time when Jamahal Hill lost in the octagon.

The former champion was talking about his 2021 loss to Paul Craig at UFC 263. That fight ended similarly just under two minutes into the first round.

And y’all remember I’ve lost before in the first round and remember how I responded this time will be even better.

“Sweet Dreams” did make a comeback after that loss with four back-to-back consecutive wins. The last of which was his title fight win against Glover Teixeira. Now, Jamahal Hill is set to fight Carlos Ulberg this June at UFC 303. It will be interesting to see what type of comeback Hill makes this time.
