NFL fanatics may not remember much about it but the NBA fans can’t forget the thrill witnessing the competitive tussle between Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic last season. Craig Carton seems to be seeing the repeat of the tussle but in NFL style for the MVP between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson with two having the best odds to win the MVP award.Â
The host of Breakfast Ball presented somec unique points to highlight the intense competition, suggesting that the rivalry between these two prominent NFL quarterbacks mirrors that of Embiid and Jokic last year. Having said that, he drew parallels about how Embiid was favored over Jokic in the MVP race which is apparently what’s happening in the league with Allen being favored over Jackson.Â
“I think there’s an aspect of it that’s voter fatigue. There’s no argument to be made that Lamar Jackson is not the MVP of the league.”@craigcartonlive says Josh Allen being favored over Lamar for MVP, is shaping a lot like Joel Embiid winning MVP over Nikola Jokic in 2023 💯 pic.twitter.com/CD2Z34oZrf

Being ignorant towards the Buffalo Bills’ phenomenal season under MVP favorite Allen, Carton argued that fans are unjustified for solely crediting Derrick Henry for the Ravens’ success this season and not the star quarterback’s persistent efforts.Â
Jeff Saturday advocates for Saquon Barkley as MVP contenderÂ
While the debate between Allen and Jackson continues, former coach Jeff Saturday seems to believe the Philadelphia Eagles’ star Saquon Barkley deserves a trophy more than anyone. During Tuesday’s episode of ESPN Get Up, Saturday advocated for Barkley, suggesting what he has to do to secure the trophy in his hands.Â
If he ends up winning the award, he will become the first non-quarterback since 2012 to win the NFL MVP. He is leading the league in rushing yards with 1,838 and rushing attempts of 13 while having the third-best odds to win the prestigious MVP award.
