Thompson stated that the video inspired him to see Nowitzki and his squad as underdogs. How they won the championship remains special, and even Thompson felt so.

During their championship run, the Mavericks defeated many star-studded teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers. In the finals, they took down the ‘Big 3’ of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, who were all in their prime at the time.

On the DLLS Sports podcast, Dirk Nowitzki appeared as a special guest. The one-time NBA MVP expressed his feelings about Thompson joining the Mavericks. He further spoke about how Thompson wore his jersey while working, which delighted the Mavs legend.
That [Thompson wearing his jersey] is so sweet. I mean obviously I got to know him, I talked to him a little bit during my last All-Star game, and during my last season…Just a really nice, chill guy, and just loves the vibe, and just loves to hang out…He’s just super easy to get along with.
