The Cleveland Cavaliers‘ Tristan Thompson gets mentioned in the news for multiple reasons. He is one of the most controversial NBA players. The forward is highly discussed for his personal life and choices in the NBA world.

In January, Thompson was suspended by the NBA for 25 games without pay. The player violated the NBA’s anti-drug policy. He tested positive for ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033. These drugs are used to increase body mass and facilitate strength. After the suspension announcement, the Cavaliers expressed disappointment about the player’s actions.

After being suspended, Thompson was spotted for the first time at a basketball game sitting next to his ex, Khloe Kardashian’s sister, Kim Kardashian. Kim was present to support her son Saint for his basketball game. Despite his bad relationship with Khloe, Kim still seems to share a good relationship with her ex-brother-in-law.

Thompson had been caught in multiple cheating scandals during his relationship with Khloe over the years. Since the couple’s breakup, there have been various times when Kim and Tristan were spotted together. Kim also admitted that despite his infidelity, Thompson remains a good friend to her.

Thompson was drafted as a fourth overall pick in 2011 by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was the highest-picked Canadian player at the time. He played for the team for nine years till 2020. Tristan also won a championship with the team in 2016.

In 2020, the Cavaliers traded Thompson to the Boston Celtics where he made a two-year $19 Million contract but was traded under a year in August 2021 to the Sacramento Kings. Thompson could not stick to the team as he was again traded under a year to Indiana Pacers at the beginning of 2022. Thompson reached a buyout agreement with the Pacers.

In 10 days, the Center signed with the Chicago Bulls. After spending a year with the Bulls, Thompson was reunited with his championship-winning teammate LeBron James in the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023. Finally, after five months, he was signed again by his draft team the Cavaliers for a one-year contract. His controversial personal life and worsened performance played a huge part in this.
