Not just in the women’s category, Caitlin Clark has become the all-time scoring leader in NCAA history. The Iowa Hawkeyes guard has broken the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer record across both categories, men and women. On Sunday, the 22-year-old broke Pete Maravich‘s past record in style.
The Hawkeyes played and won against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Clark needed 18 points to pass Maravich’s 3,667-point milestone. But she achieved the goal through free throws just before the first half ended. Clark ended the game with 35 points. The record is broken after more than 50 years. As the player is already getting WNBA buzz, she will add more to her NCAA record as the postseason is remaining.
Clark has been in conversations for the majority part of this season. Just a few weeks ago, the player broke Kelsey Plum‘s Division I women’s college basketball all-time scoring record. In the same game, Clark had also scored her career-high and Iowa-record of 49 points. The star also recently completed 1,000 assists in her college career.
While having such an amazing season, Clark on Thursday announced on social media that this will be her last season in Iowa and that she is entering the 2024 WNBA draft. For the longest time, fans are anticipating Clark’s draft. After the confirmation by the athlete herself, fans are excited to see Clark’s next moves.

Clark is rumored to be getting drafted by WNBA’s the Indiana Fever and the tickets have already started selling. Fans are anticipating Clark to be the first overall pick in the draft. This season Clark is averaging 32.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 8.7 assists with 46.9 FG% with her team the Iowa Hawkeyes, which is currently holding second place in the Big Ten.
