At the Golden State Warriors camp, things are not going well. They have struggled with injuries to several players, including Stephen Curry, during the season. In games when Curry was injured, Jonathan Kuminga has been filling in as the team’s main scorer. Now, it seems things have gotten worse as the Warriors star was the latest to get injured.
It appeared like tonight would be an additional high-scoring night for Kuminga. But in the second quarter, Kuminga seemed to roll his right ankle and land awkwardly on his right leg before collapsing to the ground. With roughly 2:27 remaining in the first half, he left the game at that moment and never came back.

Steve Kerr provided an injury update regarding the 22-year-old following the game. The head coach of the Warriors described the injury as serious and declined to use the word “day-to-day.” He went on to mention that Kuminga would get an MRI tomorrow to obtain a more precise image. The DubNation will be hoping for a positive Jonathan Kuminga injury update but things don’t look good at the moment.
Steve Kerr said Jonathan Kuminga’s ankle sprain was “significant.” It won’t be a “day-to-day” injury. MRI and an update expected tomorrow. He will be out vs Kings and likely longer.

Draymond Green shared his views on Jonathan Kuminga’s injury against Grizzlies
According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic on X, Jonathan Kuminga, a forward for the Golden State Warriors, left Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies with what seemed to be a ‘serious’ injury. He tried to block a shot and landed awkwardly. This resulted in a sprained ankle injury for Kuminga with his teammate Draymond Green left upset.
Green opened up on the situation after the game. Draymond Green told Anthony Slater, “It fu***ing sucks, I mean excuse me but it sucks.”

Aside from this, the Warriors have yet not offered Kuminga a contract extension, something he had hoped for. They made an annual offer of almost $30 million, but neither party could agree last season. He has nevertheless played a significant role in the Warriors’ success this season. With a recent injury to the Warriors star, their fans will be hoping that this does not play a part in the contract extension talks.
