Jon “Bones” Jones is the arguable GOAT of MMA, especially in the UFC. However, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor is the most influential athlete in MMA, definitely in the UFC. Nevertheless, the duo do not have an ego between them and are cordial. Recently, Jones revisited an interaction he had with McGregor.
Weeks before his fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 196 back in 2016, McGregor had a hilarious interaction with Jones. Both sported Rolex watches, and McGregor hilariously stated Jones had the ‘No. 2 Rollie’ to which Jones had a hilarious bewildered response. The alleged GOAT of MMA fondly remembered the incident, evidenced by his latest tweet.

McGregor has feuded with fighters across weight divisions. However, he has always remained cordial with Jon Jones. The Irishman was present when Jones returned from hiatus to claim the vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285. McGregor attended the event with Jake Gyllenhaal, his co-star in the movie Road House. The Irishman was extremely happy for Jones, as evidenced by his animated reaction, for his comeback and victory.
Once, McGregor stated that he and Jones were the best pound-for-pound fighters in the UFC. Jones has been number one on the pound-for-pound list for a long time. However, McGregor’s best position was second behind Demetrious Johnson, the flyweight champion at the time. Even though McGregor is cordial with Jones, many have animosity towards Bones, particularly Colby “Chaos” Covington.

Colby Covington was Jon Jones’s roommate at Iowa Central Community College. Both won gold medals at the 2007 NJCAA Wrestling Championships in Rochester. Covington won in the 165lbs category, while Jones did the same in the 197lbs category. Both transferred colleges after the victory and eventually became big stars in the UFC.

Covington bashed Jones stating his legacy is full of ‘scamming’, ‘lies’, and ‘deceit’. Jones is the son of a pastor and has always shown his belief in Jesus Christ. However, Covington didn’t think so, stating the skeletons in Jones’ closet and the alleged evil things he did.
