Jon Jones will make his long-awaited return to active competition at this weekendโ€™s UFC 309 event. He takes on Stipe Miocic from the worldโ€™s most iconic arena, Madison Square Garden in New York City. When โ€œBonesโ€ reinserts into the foray, heโ€™ll do his G.O.A.T. things in style at the pay-per-view (PPV) event top bill. Keeping up with the trends, Jones is receiving new custom fighter shorts.

Custom fight shorts are the new wave in the UFC. Heavyweight champion Jones will be wearing his custom Venum fight shorts for the first time at UFC 309. Jones has only competed once in the post-Zuffa Venum era and under UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program tier outfitting. He wore black shorts when he made his heavyweight debut against Ciryl Gane at UFC 285.

Venomโ€”the exclusive UFC Fight Kit brandโ€”has released pictures of Jonesโ€™ new custom-made shorts. It features the two roaring carnivores in the middle, a cross, and Philippians 4:13, the Bible verse ink on his chest, and is a throwback to his previous shorts. The UFC store will pipeline it as UFC 309 perpetuity royalty merchandise for $114.99. Check out the snaps below:

Venumโ€™s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC last saw the โ€œFusionโ€ and โ€œUnrivalled Adrenalineโ€ series. Right from UFC 299, 300, 302, 304, 305, Noche, and even UFC 308 had custom shorts. Ilia Topuria, Sean Oโ€™Malley, Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, Bryce Mitchell, Alex Pereira, Paddy Pimblett, and others have had it too. Last week, former champ Brandon Moreno rocked one for UFC Fight Night 246 in Edmonton. But all the blimps and custom kits are not enough to rock Jonesโ€™ planned swan song.

Jon Jones rather to risk Alex Pereira scrap than UFC title unification vs. Tom Aspinall

The script is set โ€“ โ€˜absolute best UFC Pound-for-poundโ€™ Jon Jones is doing G.O.A.T things and will make his maiden title defense soon. He does not need any detraction from that at all. UFC heavyweight champion Jones knows Tom Aspinall holds a piece of the divisionโ€™s title. But โ€˜Bonesโ€™ has no interest in a unification bout.

Jones returns to action at the pay-per-view (PPV) headliner for UFC 309 to face Stipe Miocic. At 37, with a bonafide Hall of Fame legacy fame, he is ready to initiate retirement if he can defeat Miocic. With ex-UFC lineal heavyweight Francis Ngannou gone, Miocic is the best to do it in the division, and Jones wants it. Other than that and UFC 309, brand fighter Alex Pereira jingles pay-per-view spotlight thoughts.

More than likely not [on facing Aspinall], โ€ฆI feel like Tom Aspinall is, I donโ€™t want to say nobody, but he just hasnโ€™t proven anything. He hasnโ€™t done anything. I understand he won his belt against Sergei, and Sergei just got slaughtered by someone else, so itโ€™s like, โ€ฆIโ€™m not here to gamble someone else making a name off of me.,,a guy thatโ€™s still on our UFC roster that would be not only financially worth it, but legacy worth it, it would be Alex Pereira.

Jon Jones to MMA columnist Kevin Iole for his YT Channel (@KevinIole) for UFC 309 pre-fight media availability

Interim hardware by default means it needs to glue back in; otherwise, the โ€œundisputedโ€ moniker is very disputable. If Jones continues active contention, a title unification bout against current Brit interim heavyweight champion Aspinall appears to be the roar. But a 9-fight-old Aspinall with fight time that barely goes beyond a round does not interest him.
