Things haven’t been looking great for Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers lately. The team sits near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, and the return of their franchise star Joel Embiid hasn’t done them any favors either. As they struggle with team chemistry issues and lackluster performances across the board, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas issued a strong warning to Embiid and the Sixers.
The Sixers have been under high scrutiny after reports emerged of brewing tension within the locker room. After Tyrese Maxey issued a warning to Joel Embiid, NBA veteran Gilbert Arenas took to his podcast to call out the former MVP. In an extended rant about Embiid and the Sixers, Arenas revealed how the Sixers stars’ careless behavior would cost the team a championship.

Arenas slammed Joel Embiid after recent reports claimed that the Sixers star had a pattern of being ‘late everywhere.’ As Embiid continues to struggle to regain form after returning from injury, Arenas called out the face of the Sixers franchise for his callous habits seeping into the team.
You’re late every day, you’re eating bad, you’re doing it – there’s a reason your talent helps you to a certain extent… I want you to be a professional like everybody else… You can show up.

So far, Joel Embiid has struggled to perform well for the Sixers. He has averaged just 14.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 3 games this season. The team will need him to step up to keep their playoff and championship hopes alive.
Joel Embiid injury update – will he play tonight?
All eyes will be on Joel Embiid once again as he gears up to take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. For the first time this season, he has not been listed on the Philadelphia 76ers injury roster. For the time being, Embiid seems to be clear to suit up.
However, concerns still remain for the Sixers in the absence of their star guard Tyrese Maxey. Maxey has been out for over a week due to a hamstring injury he suffered. The injury hampered the 76ers and they are yet to play a game this season, with all three of their stars healthy.
With their season on the verge of a major collapse, the 2-11 Sixers will need Joel Embiid to step up in the absence of Maxey, who is still slated as questionable on the injury report. Thankfully for the Sixers, the Grizzlies will remain without their star guard, Ja Morant, who has faced his own challenges with injuries this season.
