Joe Rogan endorsed GOP Nominee Donald Trump shortly before the November 5 electoral polls. After which, his ever-viral โThe Joe Rogan Experienceโ podcast has ballooned up in fame evermore. The UFC micsman and veteran podcaster is a shining example of what an all-around media savant is. Rogan says it and knows it all; now all the attention is on him. But one of his latest stints talking on UFC two-division champs and Alex Pereira proved that even the best can err.
Speaking onย โJREโ Show #2226 โ w/ย comedian and fellow podcaster Theo Von, Rogan touched on a number of topics. For one, he told on Elon Muskย knowing the poll results before anyone else. There was also substantial talk of Democratic nominee/VP ย Kamala Harris. Shifting the scales to UFC topics, the duo talked about the dominance of UFC two-division champs and Pereira.
For the uninitiated, UFC has had nine of them. Conor McGregor (Featherweight, Lightweight), Daniel Cormier (Light heavyweight, Heavyweight), Jon Jones (Light heavyweight, Heavyweight), Georges St-Pierre (Welterweight, Middleweight), BJ Penn (Lightweight, Welterweight), Randy Couture (Light heavyweight, Heavyweight), Henry Cejudo (Flyweight, Bantamweight), and Amanda Nunes (Womenโs Bantamweight, Featherweight).
Rogan knows all these, definitely, but forgot for a brief moment or two. Runs like GSP and Cormier have been specifically legendary and he has been here for it. After a ginormous title run, St-Pierre returned at 185-pound one last time to capture gold.
He also goes the Julianna Pena route of saying Nunes and her โ45 reign were kind of incumbent given she was the champ of an empty weight class. Dual-division champ Jones returns for his second blimp in over a week at the UFC 309 pay-per-view (PPV) top bill. This snub, though hilarious, was worse than โforgetting the nameโ.
Joe Roganโs โPoatanโ craze causes an ire
Alex Pereira has been a brand value champ overall, so itโs not uncommon for veteran commentators like Joe Rogan to be in awe. Nunes was the UFCโs only ever female double-champion, getting her first shot on a 5-1 streak. GSP did a legendary welterweight all-around run. โBonesโ has a record stat of title fights that many canโt even come near. But โPoatanโ is just some other element of UFC two-division titleholder altogether.
Pereira has had three title defenses, stopping Jamahal Hill, Jiri Prochazka, and Khalil Rountree Jr.โallย under relatively short notice or unideal camp circumstances. He also made those in a record 175 days and was the fastest double-dip champ on the list. His four-fight UFC knockout streak is the second-longest among active fighters in the company behind Steve Garcia (five).
More than anyone, Rogan knows the pitfalls of sidetracking or misinformation lane. But this was more on a hilarious note where the podcaster just buffers information late from his noggin. If anything, his turn of support for three-time Republican candidate and pre-election GOP Nominee Trumpโs last term is getting taxing on him.
