Conor McGregor‘s name is attached to some of the most iconic moments in the UFC. One of those moments was the famous “Who the f*** is that guy?” phrase from the UFC 205 press conference. Jeremy Stephens who was on the receiving end of that verbal jab recently mentioned something interesting about ‘The Notorious’s parents on Rampage Jackson‘s podcast.
Jeremy Stephens recently sat down for a conversation with Rampage Jackson. During their discussion on the ‘Jaxxon Podcast’, Stephens talked about taking a picture with Conor McGregor‘s mother.
His parents were super nice. Congratulate me on the fight, and I took a picture with them. His mom naturally just cuddled up right there in the f****** winning arms… That was the night and it was nothing but respect after that.

This was right after Stephens knocked out Dennis Bermudez at UFC 189 in 2015. Stephens and McGregor’s iconic exchange did not happen until much later in November of 2016. It was at the UFC 205 press conference where McGregor delivered the viral “Who the f*** is that guy?” line after Stephens tried to diss him about his performance in the octagon. Nonetheless, ‘Lil’ Heathen’ had the picture from last year in his back pocket which served as a good comeback once he got on X.
Nonetheless, the two fighters have mutual respect for each other. Stephens said that he does not really know McGregor that well but from what he has heard he is a good man. He understands that there are two different people and McGregor’s personality on camera is different to sell the big numbers.

Years after this viral comeback, UFC Europe asked McGregor if he really was not aware of who Stephens was. Turns out ‘The Notorious’ was simply having fun at the press conference. In fact, the Irish superstar was aware who ‘Lil Heathen’ really was.

Conor McGregor said he was in a great spot at the press conference. He had just avenged his loss against Nate Diaz at UFC 202. The UFC star was then preparing for his second world title bout and in his words “just in a great spot mentally, physically.” McGregor said the words just rolled off his tongue and “clattered ol’ Jeremy into the cheek.”
