In a candid conversation with Vanity Fair’s Interview Magazine, the Atlas actress confessed that she’s not actively seeking love anymore. Lopez and Affleck reignited their romance almost a decade after their initial whirlwind romance.
During her interview with the media outlet, the actress opened up, saying, “For those of us who are hopeless romantics and crave companionship, we often believe that we need someone to feel complete and happy.” In addition to dealing with the breakdown of her marriage, Lopez also faced the difficult decision to cancel her This Is Me… Now tour.
Expanding on her thoughts, the multi-talented star revealed that she has no regrets about the choices that have led her to where she is today. She shared, “That doesn’t mean it didn’t almost break me. It nearly did.”
The Marry Me star further expressed that now that she has found peace in her life, she believes that everything happens for a reason. Reflecting on her past, she admitted that it took her a long time to truly understand the complexities of marriage and relationships.
Lopez confessed that from a young age, she grappled with seeking validation, striving for perfection, and feeling like the forgotten middle child, vying for attention from her busy parents, the public, and her romantic partners.
In a vulnerable moment, she shared, “I have a deep love for my parents, but I can see how their upbringing has shaped me.” She added, “It’s only when those patterns start to surface in your adult relationships that you realize the impact. ‘Oh, I’m okay with being ignored by this person. I’m okay with being treated this way.’ That realization has been a journey for me.”
