Robert Whittaker doesnโt plan to make it an easy night for his upcoming opponent Khamzat Chimaev. Whittaker is scheduled to fight Chimaev at the inaugural UFC Saudi Arabia. The hype around the fight is massive and the Aussie is absolutely focused on his gameplan.
Robert Whittaker recently did an interview with ESPN MMA where he gave his insights about the middleweight bout. Whittaker revealed that he would fight on his feet and try to drag the fight as long as possible. The fighter also talked about his never-give-up attitude and how he will use it for his benefit.
I’m gonna go in there and I’m gonna fight my fight. I’m gonna fight a stand-up fight. I’m gonna see where it goes. I’m gonna drag it out. It’s a five-round fight. I have been in plenty of those and Iโve got no quit in me.

Whittaker vs. Chimaev is scheduled to take place at UFC on ABC 6 on June 22. Due to the popularity of Chimaev in the Middle East, it might look like a hostile territory for Whittaker. However, the โReaperโ is ready for it. Other than the main event, Sergei Pavlovich will also take on fellow Russian Alexander Volkov in a heavyweight matchup.
In his last octagon outing, Whittaker won against Paulo Costa via unanimous decision. It helped him to bounce back from his previous loss and get back the winning momentum. On the other hand, Chimaev beat Kamaru Usman last year and is still undefeated.
Khamzat Chimaev trains with Michael Page ahead of UFC Saudi Arabia
Khamzat Chimaev is regarded as one of the most dangerous fighters by many fans and experts. Most of his fights have always been one-sided, and the fighter has used his wrestling to outclass his opponents with ease. However, the fighter does not take Robert Whittaker lightly at all.
Recently, Chimaev was spotted training with UFC welterweight fighter Michael Page. MVP shared a picture of him and Chimaev on his Instagram account. The fighter also talked about his experience training with Chiamev.
Pleasure to train alongside such a beast.

Page might have taught Chimaev how to strike. Alternatively, it could be that โBorzโ shared โVenomโ some lesson in wrestling. In any case, two warriors who are already dangerous are hoping to level up together.
Page made his UFC debut this past March and defeated Kevin Holland via unanimous decision. However, the ex-Bellator star is currently not booked for any other fight. The UFC is probably trying to get the London-born Page to fight in Manchester in July.
